Lavender Honey? Well, I have been told I am not big enough lavender wise to make "lavender honey" I DO have lavender AND I cannot control where the bees go. Which is kinda funny, because no one can. What I WILL have is honey WITH lavender AND everything that is blooming on my and around my property. Now, I live in the high desert. What could possibly be blooming you ask? This is where it gets exciting. I not only have about 200 lavender plants, but soon I will have blooming desert primrose, desert peach, sagebrush, lupine, prickly pear cactus, my apple trees, mulberry tree, and that's just what I know of in the spring. The summer has it's own surprises. The desert is constant mystery of spring activity. What I find magical and amazing is that like wine, like lavender, and now like the taste of the honey that will be produced here, it will be unique to here And that is what I love so much. That is why no lavender or honey, or wine will every be the same. It's creating something truly unique and it doesn't matter who else is doing the same thing, mine and theirs will always be our own. Just like people, just like snowflakes, dogs and horses. I am not even sure how this opportunity fell into my lap, but I am so grateful, and as always it came at the most incredible time. Thank you for following my blog, my business, supporting our farm and supporting the independent dream!
